Good decision making

Making decisions in our work is something we do all day every day. But are they good decisions? How often do you stop and consider the implications of your decisions on others?

Course content

This half day workshop will focus on the fundamentals for making a decision well, understanding that ethical decision making is ultimately about power and delegation, and other important considerations.

Learning outcomes

After completing the workshop participants will be better able to:

  • identify the source of the decision making power
  • examine key structures and processes underpinning good and ethical decision making
  • respect the rights of any person/s affected by decisions
  • recognise the necessity for robust record keeping
  • understand the importance of an ethical workplace to reinforce good decision making
  • ensure their organisation has an accessible internal review mechanism
  • communicate effectively and be transparent in all their actions.
